Panvel SIR 2026: Voter List Search
A mobile-first search for Panvel’s 2026 SIR voter lists, built so people can find their entry without going through hundreds of scanned PDFs.

The problem
The 2026 SIR voter lists for Panvel (AC 188) are published as hundreds of scanned PDFs. Finding one name on a phone means opening Part after Part. I built an unofficial search tool for people in my area and the volunteers helping them.
What it does
- Search the Draft, Final Draft and ASDD lists by name, relative's name, EPIC number, house number, age or Part.
- Handles common spelling differences in names, like Mohammad / Mohd or Patel / Patil.
- Opens the original PDF page with the voter highlighted, so anyone can check the result against the official list.
- Always shows which list was searched, so a Draft result isn't mistaken for the final one.
Getting the data
I downloaded the official lists from the CEO Maharashtra website and extracted the records with an OCR script. A second script cross-checks every record and flags anything uncertain for manual checking.
Handling personal data
The first version stored all records in public files. I rebuilt it with a backend, so the data is only reachable by searching, never as a full list. Searches are rate-limited, and the site is clearly labelled as an unofficial tool, with a contact form for corrections or removal requests.
Results
249 users in 90 days, 187 of them in the launch week, with an average engagement of nearly 2 minutes. After an optimisation pass, mobile PageSpeed went from 78 to 98, and it scores 100 for accessibility and SEO. ₹0 running cost.
Limits
Covers Parts 1–80 only. Built for the 2026 SIR cycle and will be retired after it. Always verify on the official portal.
